Ladbrokes is a British bookmaker whose history goes all the way back to 1886. Throughout the years Ladbrokes has been a big player on the British market. Back in the day they were ground-breaking with the opening of a chain of gambling saloons in Great Britain. Ladbrokes.com saw the light in 2000 and to this day they have more than 2 million registered users in more than 200 countries around the globe.
It is among the British sports and leagues where Ladbrokes offer the largest variety of games and bets. Football, rugby, speedway, snooker, cricket horse- and dog racing are all covered very intensely by the bookmaker – not just in the most prominent leagues but they also have a nice coverage in the lower leagues and divisions. Keeping that in mind, they obviously also cover most of the best European football leagues as well as tennis, handball, golf and ice hockey. They are also well represented among American sports such as baseball, basketball and American football.
Ladbrokes offer special odds apart from the standard 1X2 in most of their featured sport events, as well as over/under, handicap play, goal scorers, first team to score etc. They are better than most other sites when it comes to interesting and special bets within the American leagues MLB, NHL, NBA and NFL.
Ladbrokes.com offer live streaming just like many other online bookmakers nowadays. They don’t stream as many games as e.g. Bet365, so if it’s quantity of games you are looking for, you may be more satisfied with another bookmaker. Nevertheless they do stream games and they offer a live stream of the fc cup, which isn’t to be seen many other places.
Ladbrokes offer a more wide selection of games and bets than most other bookmakers. That being said, their pay-out ratio is rather low and is in the lower parts of the market at around 92%.
The European football leagues vary a lot – they offer a competitive pay-out ratio among the British matches, but in the Serie A, Bundesliga and La Primera they scratch the definitive bottom with a pay-out ratio of only 89%.
Generally one could say they excel in some areas and scratch the bottom in others.
Ladbrokes is one of the largest bookmakers around and therefore they obviously provide support in a variety of languages. They can be contacted through e-mail or via a toll-free phone. The phone, however, will only be answered in British working hours from 10-18. The e-mail support may occasionally be a bit slow, but the answers are always very useful and fulfilling.
Ladbrokes are running a special promotion called “£50 free bet”. It’s quite simple: You create an account, remember to write the promo code “FB50”, deposit your funds and afterwards the first bet you place between 5 and 50£ will be matched on to your account. Afterwards the bonus amount is yours and can be deposited immediately!
Ladbrokes.com saw the light in the year 2000 as one of the first online bookmakers – and that shows; the site is very smooth. It’s not a site like all others where decorations are flying around from left to right. It’s simple and plain, and that makes it very easy for the user to create an overview for him or her. The layout is smooth, but that being said there are some shaky features like the roll-out menu which is a bit slow here and there.
A great feature is the ability to mark favorites (teams, leagues, players) and afterwards they show up in your ‘favorites’ section after logging in. This personal feature and easy-to-use player experience is definitely a great plus for Bwin.
Deposit / withdrawal
n this area the experienced Ladbrokes excel. You can deposit and withdraw in basically any way you want to, and all deposits and withdrawals are without any charges. The pay-outs are always between 1-2 banking days. You may have to show identification upon your first withdrawal, but that is only a standard safety precaution.
Our own experience
Upon entering the Ladbrokes website we quickly sensed that this was a giant who had been in the business for a long time. Obviously we knew that since we had made research prior to the process, but nevertheless the look and slickness of the website looked professional. We signed up using the £50 free bet promo code and just as promised, after our first bet of 50£ (wanting maximum value, therefore placing the largest possible single bet first) was placed, our account was credited with an additional 50£. This is actually a really great bonus since even though we did lose our initial 50£ bet we were breaking even and not having to play out any wagering requirements. Compared to other sites this site has a ton of British games and bets even in the tiniest leagues. All in all our own experience was satisfying, however the live stream could have been more resourceful and the pay-out ratio could have been slightly higher.
A great product, a nice website, an interesting bonus which has no further wagering requirements apart from the initial bet. The live stream could be more active, nevertheless they do excel in some areas (fc cup). The site does have a below average pay-out ratio, but if you are interested in the great amount of British bets they offer as well as professional service, then this should be a great site for you.
